Lower back and neck pain

– Lower back and neck pain is nasty cycle and can be difficult to break. Often back pain is ongoing and flares its head throughout your life. 

We help break the cycle of acute and chronic back pain through our 3 core pillars – recovery, build a base and condition. By getting you strong and conditioned we are able to break that cycle so you can be at your best.

Musculoskeletal injuries

– We help you recover from your injury faster so you don’t miss out on doing what you love and educate you on how to stop it becoming a recurring injury. 

Often musculoskeletal injuries including shoulder, hip/groin, knee, ankle/foot and soft tissue injuries will cause you to have some time off but with deep understanding of injuries and training we are able to find something that you can do.

Recover

During this phase our main goal is to relieve pain and relieve pain fast. We use treatment techniques like massage, dry needling, taping, programming modifications, exercise and movement. Often combining multiple treatment options gives us the best and fastest results

Build a base

Once the pain has been eliminated we now move onto laying the foundation. This is extremely important if we wish to return to training and remain injury free for the future. We work on movement patterns and build a base level of strength around our fundamental movement patterns.

Condition

This is where the fun comes in. Now that we have built a base we are able to see what the body can do. We look to challenge the body and in particular the injured area by adding in unilateral, anti rotational, carries and other movements to increase the work capacity of the body. The other area of importance during this phase is building an engine, this gives the body a foundation to work off.

Case Studies

Name: Jenny

Jenny has started back in the gym and has been making some amazing progress with her consistency and results. Jenny is loving the community aspect as she get’s to spend time talking to friends and going out for coffee post session.

Unfortunately as she started to increase her training to continue to get the results she wanted she started to develop some knee pain. First of all it started as just a niggle, something that she could continue to train through but would just stick around, however as she continued to train it got worse and worse. It ended up making her skip her favourite exercises like box jumps, burpees, squats and more.

Understanding Jenny’s love for training and the want to continue to train even though she was injured, we were able to put together a plan that allowed her to not miss the classes, not miss her coffee dates and ultimately allowed her to progress and see the results she was after. We were able to do this because we found something that she could do in the class rather than removing her completely. During this phase we introduced some exercises to specifically work on her injured area building up strength and eventually the overall condition of her lower body.

Jenny managed to train the whole way through her injury, which allowed her to continue making progress, see the results she was after and still stay connected with the community.

FAQ

Initial consultations are 45 minutes and subsequent consultations are 30 minutes long, providing us with the time to discuss goals, perform a thorough assessment, treat and give you the advice/education necessary to get the best outcome possible.

Frequency of visits will be determined by your specific injury.

Normally what we like to do is in the early stages of your rehab journey we will see you more frequently, as this allows us to get results fast and provide you with relevant education in small bits. Once we are happy with your progress we will look at lengthening your time between visits.

As we are strong advocates of movement and exercise we will follow the initial RECOVER phase with our Build a base phase. This allows us to improve any movement patterns and build a base level of strength. During this phase we might get you to spend some 1:1 time with our physio as we work through your program.

Yes. We have 5 onsite car parks and plenty of free parking on the side streets.
  • Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing. You may be asked to remove items of clothing depending on the treatment area.
  • Relevant scans or reports from other health professionals. This won’t affect the way we assess or treat you, but will ensure we have all the information to get you where you need to be.
  • Private health card where applicable
No. We are able to see anyone without a referral. Occasionally we see EPC clients which are referred from your local GP. To find out if you are eligible for an EPC speak to your GP.
Yes. We take all private health cards. All you have to do is swipe your card on our HICAPs machine and then the health fund will rebate it on the spot.

Yes we do. We have a state of the art training facility that we are able to use for all rehab and performance training
Yes we do. All of our physios are highly trained in dry needling
